Install Windows Powershell in Windows Server 2008

When you search “download Windows Powershell for Windows Server 2008” in Google, you will not find any great information. After a lot of search, I found that you don’t need to download this (like you do for other OS’s), instead add this feature directly within Windows Server 2008. Here are the steps:

  • Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel & Open “Programs & Features”
  • On left side, under “Tasks”, click “Turn Windows Features on or off”. This will open “Server Manager”
  • Click “Features” from left menu. Now select “Add Feature” from right-side pane. Windows Server 2008 Add Feature
  • Now check on “Windows Powershell” and click “Next” to install. This will finish the installation for you.Windows Powershell Installation

That’s it. It’s so simple.
